Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has announced the program and dates for
the 2020 AFA National Roadshow (the Roadshow), supported by Challenger.
AFA CEO Philip Kewin said, “The Roadshow continues the AFA theme of United and presents a unique opportunity for our members to not only build on their knowledge and learn new skills, but to also come together as a community to share experiences, support each other and ultimately inspire the future vision for the profession.”
To help advisers ready their businesses for 2020, the Roadshow program will include key policy, education and professionalism updates, including an update on the FASEA Code of Ethics, presented by Mr Kewin and AFA General Manager, Policy and Professionalism, Phil Anderson.
“The AFA continues to actively engage with key stakeholders, including the Government, ASIC, FASEA and other professional associations on an ongoing basis on the issues that profoundly affect our members and we will be sharing some of the outcomes of this process and insights into our forward strategy at the Roadshow,” Mr Kewin said.
The Roadshow will also feature AFA’s 2019 Adviser of the Year, Simone Du Chesne, who will offer her tips on diversifying a mature advice practice through profitable joint ventures with accounting firms and AFA’s 2019 Rising Star, Chris Carlin who will talk about how he overcame mental health issues and built a better-balanced advice business.
Challenger’s Andrew Lowe, Head of Technical Services will bring delegates up to speed on the latest pre and post retirement advice strategies and the AFA Foundation’s National Chair, Olivia Sarah-Le Lacheur, will talk about the Foundation’s charitable initiatives and plans for 2020.
The Roadshow will kick off in Hobart on 19 February 2020, before travelling to Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.
