Today we celebrate 64 Media turning 19. We can’t remember the exact date in March we hung out our shingle, but we can recall the staff, contractors, partners, clients, and media who were, and in some cases still are, part of our journey, and we thank them all.

I am also personally celebrating for an entirely different reason. It is my book’s first birthday.

Financial services is populated with so many informed, skilled and respectful professionals. It is a great industry to be in, and year after year, we see it grow into a more mature and dynamic version of itself.

We’ve had the great pleasure of working with many industry professionals and have enjoyed helping them position their businesses and become more confident, sought-after, and eloquent commentators. We’ve also enjoyed getting to know the finance media, and seeing former 64 Media staff members go on to succeed in other roles within the industry and beyond it.

I’m also personally celebrating the first anniversary of publication of my debut novel.

This time last year The Understudy was published by Simon and Schuster Australia (S&S Australia). In the publishing world, Simon and Schuster is talked about as being one of the ‘Big Five’ publishers, so to have my book published by S&S Australia was almost overwhelming.

This past year has therefore also been about learning to navigate another industry – book publishing. What I discovered was that this industry is likewise populated with highly skilled, informed, and respectful professionals. On my book’s first birthday, I thank S&S Australia, who will also be publishing my second novel. But more on that later.

Thank you to everyone who has been, and continues to be, with us on our journeys. We wouldn’t be here without you.

Julie & Bruce, 64 Media
