It’s been a busy six months in financial services media.
Laura Dew, who has been with Money Management since 2019, moved into the editor’s chair in February, after Jassmyn Goh left to take on the editor’s role at Citywire. As Money Management celebrated its 35th anniversary last month, Laura announced the end of a printed edition, with final copies hitting desks around 30 June 2022. I remember working on the 15th anniversary edition when I worked with Money Management in the early 2000s.
Oksana Patron, who wrote for Money Management as Associate Editor, Research for its parent, FE fundinfo, left in March and is now Deputy Editor, Wealth at FST Media, writing for Financial Newswire. Financial Newswire was launched in May last year by former Money Management managing editor, Mike Taylor.
At The Australian Financial Review (AFR), Lucy Dean was appointed AFR Wealth and Personal Finance Reporter in February. Emma Rapaport was appointed Markets Reporter in May, after more than four years at Morningstar.
Also in May, Cassandra Baldini was appointed senior journalist at Financial Standard. She is also writing for sister publication Money magazine. Cassandra previously worked as a reporter for News Corp, after three years at Bloomberg. Andrew McKean was appointed journalist with Financial Standard in June. Andy was previously a copywriter with Nosworthy Group.
Sharon Klyne, who has a long career in finance communications, was appointed editor of Conexus Financial’s Investment Magazine in June, after four years as Associate Director, Institutional Communications with ANZ Bank.
Most recently Tahn Sharpe, after almost five years with Conexus Financial is leaving the Professional Planner editor’s desk, to take on the role of Managing Editor with The Inside Network, effective 1 August. Conexus Financial’s Senior Journalist Chris Dastoor will become acting editor of Professional Planner.
