SYDNEY: 3 May, 2022  Managing Director of WT Financial Group, Keith Cullen, has thanked retiring Synchron Chair, Michael Harrison, for his enormous contribution to the financial services industry and to Synchron.

“Michael has a history with Synchron dating back to 2007, and was Chair from 2011 until our acquisition,” he said. “Over that time, the advice and counsel he provided clearly helped the directors grow the business into the vibrant, progressive group it is today.”

Mr Harrison began working with Synchron as a business strategy and marketing consultant.

“He joined Synchron at a pivotal time in its history, helping  reinvent the company to become more attractive to younger advisers, while also remaining a preferred licensee for its traditional adviser base,” Mr Cullen said. “His contribution to Synchron, and to the industry, cannot be overstated.”

Mr Harrison’s long and distinguished career spanned accountancy, retail sales, insurance, and banking. He consulted to numerous entities, including Citibank, the STAR Alliance Network, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and Zurich Financial Services, where, in 1997, he was charged with the responsibility of reinventing Zurichʼs Australian life insurance business.

Mr Harrison is also the author of three books and a corporate speaker, served three terms as Deputy Lord Mayor of Adelaide, and sat on numerous government and private company boards.

Synchron Director, Don Trapnell, succeeded Mr Harrison as Chair.
