February has kicked off with many financial services events. Here is a reminder and further update on some upcoming events.
THIS WEEK
IMAP is hosting IMAP Virtual InvestTech, a webinar series beginning this week (6-10 February) which focuses on, ‘technology’s role in sustaining a 20-year advice relationship.’
Advice Practitioner Summit The Professional Planner | Financial Planning Association Advice Practitioner Summit is an all-day event being held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney on Wednesday, 8 February. The Summit, ‘taps into the experience and insights of practice owners, principals, consultants and other industry participants, to deliver leading-edge thinking’. The day will begin with the breakfast relaunch of the Stella Network which was formed to support more women in financial planning.
Benchmark Media is hosting the Financial Observer Professional Indemnity Insurance Symposium in Sydney at Rydges World Square this Thursday, 9 February. The event, which is aimed at financial advisers, will examine issues, ‘currently impacting the professional indemnity insurance sector and assess the direction in which it is likely to head in the immediate future.’ Financial advisers can attend free, by applying the code ‘VIP’ when booking.
NEXT WEEK
Financial Standard’s annual Chief Economists Forum will be held in Sydney at the Four Seasons Hotel on Valentine’s Day, 14 February. The event, which targets financial advice, superannuation, and investment management professionals, will feature five of Australia’s chief economists and strategists, who will provide their economic insights into expectations for 2023. The Chief Economists Forum will also be held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on 16 February.
ON THE HORIZON
Portfolio Construction Forum will host Markets Summit 2023 on 22 February from its Live Studio at the University of New South Wales campus (Sydney). Aimed at institutional and wholesale portfolio construction practitioners, delegates can attend in person, as part of a group at an off-site live venue organised by a Forum Faculty Partner, or digitally via live stream.
SMSF Association National Conference 2023 The Self Management Super Fund Association will run its Conference for two-and-a-half days from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) from 22-24 February, and virtually. The event encourages a ‘hivemind approach to collective knowledge sharing’.
